It’s quiet in the snow (ice).

Instead of another photo essay of what uptown Charlotte looks like in the snow and ice (nothing wrong with that of course) I opted for some quiet solitude for a couple hours. I headed (very slowly) to one of my favorite places in town, Evergreen Nature Preserve, to observe the peace and quiet of a mid January snowfall (icefall?). Here’s what I saw and what I heard. The red thing on the tree is someones gum haha. Oddly enough, it was like 8 feet up the trunk. And of course, I made sure to not wake the sleeping fairies.

Not Quite A Circle

Here’s my dispatch from a recent assignment for Charlotte magazine in October 2021. I wouldn’t call myself an ardent fan of NASCAR but I do absolutely love covering races. Especially assignments like this one where I’m there for the sole purpose of capturing the essence of what Raceday is like.
